Each year we mourn the end of summer. Last night our dinner conversation revolved around what "signals" the end of summer for us. For many years it was Choir Retreat, in the mountains, but for the past three years, its been the Bratwurst Booth at the Orange City Street Fair. It is the major fundraiser for the Band Boosters.
Just to prove we were working, here are some photos. I manipulated these in my photo program trying to get some realistic skin tones. The pictures taken under the awning all had a redish cast to them. Originally, the people looked horrible but the brickwork in the background was fine. Now, the brickwork looks horrible, and the people, well, they look great, of course!

Working together in a booth like that is fun. I'd HATE doing all those things at home alone - - - but with friends it's fun. Many hands make light work and all that.
I think it's one of the best things they could do to get the new families integrated. We get to "help" the freshman's parents learn the routine - and tell our war stories at the same time.
